It has been designed with the patient’s needs at the forefront of everything, from checking surgery times to letting us know what you think of us.
Pathology Results - Please call after 11am for test results when the telephones should be less busy.
Long Term Conditions
We are pleased to be introducing a new way of caring for our patients with long term conditions, this includes patients with Hypertension, Diabetes, asthma, COPD etc. We will invite patients to make an appointment at the surgery in the month of their birth. On this visit we will complete all the necessary tests and screening required to ensure that their personal condition/s are fully assessed and kept under control. This means we will see patients for one longer appointment so reducing the need to attend a number of shorter appointments throughout the year.
NB.If your conditions have changed or your feel unwell you must continue to contact the surgery in the normal way.
New to the team! - Matron
We now have a Matron, Julie Phipps who started with us in June last year. Julie will be working very closely with the Doctors at the practice. Julie joined the team with over 20 years practice nurse experience, providing care to patients with chronic diseases.Having completed her adult nurse training in 1994, she has continued to study in Primary Care and develop her expertise in long term conditions and urgent care.
She is currently in the final modules of her Masters Degree in advanced nursing practice and awaiting the imminent arrival of her first grandchild. Family life keeps her busy along with cycling and long walks with her Black lab.
When you call the surgery you may be put through to Julie first, Julie will then ask you a few questions and she will decide whether your problem is something she can deal with or if it is something for which you need to see a GP.
Our aim is to make it easier and more convenient for patients to see a GP by providing more appointments at surgeries across the Berkeley Vale area. These appointments are called Improved Access Appointments. The appointments can be offered to patients registered with one of the Berkeley Vale Improved Access Surgeries which includes The Chipping Surgery.
