Advice for Parents During Coronavirus

COVID-19

The Chipping surgery is now operating a telephone triage system to try to keep both patients, GPs and staff safe during this time

When you book an appointment by phone or online you will have a initial telephone consultation with a GP or Nurse during this call the GP or Nurse will ascertain if you need to have a face to face consultation or your problem can be dealt with a phone call or by video link.

If you need a face to face consultation you will be told when to come to the Surgery.

If you need to come to the practice you will notice that hand sanitiser has been provided for use by all visitors to the practice. PLEASE - make sure you use the sanitiser on the WAY IN & WAY OUT of the Surgery, you may also be given a face mask to wear whilst you are with us, please ensure you put it on to protect both yourself and all our staff & GPs.

This Chipping Surgery is supporting vital coronavirus (COVID-19) planning and research by sharing your data with NHS Digital. Please click on the header above to read more.

Please help us by following these guidelines:

  • Please do not enter the Surgery unless a GP or Nurse has advised you to, if you need to urgently collect something from the practice please phone us first so that we know you are coming. - Please DO NOT turn up without speaking to a Receptionist first
  • Please DO NOT ENTER the surgery if you think you may have COVID-19. Please leave & call NHS111 for advice.
  • We advise patients who have non-urgent issues to look at other available pathways I.e. your local pharmacy.
  • Prescriptions - If you normally collect your prescriptions from the Surgery please use the new hatch which is to the left as you come through the first set of automatic doors.
  • If you have any COVID-19 symptoms please inform the dispensary that you will send someone else to collect your prescription for you. Please phone 01453 842214 - option 2

 Improved Access - Please note due to COVID-19 Improved Access appointments are telephone consultations until further notice

Our aim is to make it easier and more convenient for patients to see a GP by providing more appointments at  surgeries across the Berkeley Vale area. These appointments are called Improved Access Appointments.  The appointments can be offered to patients registered with one of the Berkeley Vale Improved Access Surgeries which includes The Chipping Surgery

Weekday appointments available between 4pm and 7.45pm

Weekend Appointments available between 08.30am to 12.15pm

CHIPPING SURGERY CARPARK CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

As the building work progresses we are no longer able to provide this facility.

Please do not park in front of the Fire Station the entrance/exit is required 24 hours a day.

The Partners apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

The car park is due to reopen in July 2020

 Long Term Conditions

We are pleased to be introducing a new way of caring for our patients with long term conditions, this includes patients with Hypertension, Diabetes, Asthma, COPD etc. We will invite patients to make an appointments at the surgery in the month of their birth. On your first visit we will complete all the necessary tests and screening required; you will then have a follow up appointment with a Long Term Conditions nurse to ensure your personal condition/s are fully assessed and kept under control.  Please do not book appointments for Long Term Conditions reviews using the on-line service.  Please phone 01453 842214 and press option 1 - the reception team will be able to advise you which tests/screening are required and book the correct appointments for you. 

NB.If your conditions have changed or you feel unwell you must continue to contact the surgery in the normal way.

Manage your own appointments & Repeat Prescriptions Online

Please note that you can ONLY book TELEPHONE appointments online, there are NO FACE to FACE appointments, after your phone call you will be booked for a face to face appointment if it is deemed necessary. You can use this service to cancel appointments and to order prescriptions as normal.
