Vaccinations for Young People

Childhood Immunisations

Childhood Immunisation Vaccinations are usually given through your School Nursing Team if you attend a school or college. Some young people do not have these at school and as a result, we offer catch up campaigns from time to time in Surgery and if you are eligible for those vaccinations still, the Practice will contact you directly.

Travel Vaccinations

Planning on a GAP year or travelling with family over the summer?

Find out more about NHS Travel Vaccinations here.

You can also find specific information for how our Practice manage the Travel vaccinations here. This includes information and links to applying for a GHIC card for use in Europe when you need healthcare abroad as well as booking your Travel Consultation.

Vaccinations in preparation for University

If you are off to University, you may want to consider checking if you are eligible for the MenACWY vaccination before you head off. Most young people will have had this during school years, but if you have missed it, please contact the Practice to check if you can book in for your catch up vaccine.

Many of you will be aware that this year has seen the introduction of the Meningitis B vaccination for specific age groups. Please note, this is only available through your local Pharmacy not at your GP Practice. You can find more information about this here.
